U.S. Dollar Choppy Against Pound, Slips Vs. Euro, Gains On Yen During Monday's Trading []
The U.S. dollar generally lost ground on Monday in New York. The greenback saw choppy trading against the pound, while it slowly lost ground to the euro, and gained on the yen. The day's action came amid no major economic news from the U.S.The dollar saw choppy trading against the euro during Monday's trading in New York. The buck touched a daily low of 1.3318 at 4:00 am ET. The buck advanced directly after, climbing to 1.3279 shortly after 6:00 am ET. It was the highest level for the dollar against the euro since last Thursday. The pair experienced choppy trading for as Monday's session progressed. By late afternoon the dollar traded at 1.3295 against the euro.The greenback slightly lost ground against the sterling on Monday amid a choppy trading day. The buck hit a daily high of 1.9405 around 3:00 am ET. The dollar then saw a massive slide with the release of Rightmove House Prices in the United Kingdom. The survey showed that house price inflation climbed 1.5% on the back of supply shortage in March. The dollar fell to a daily low of 1.9473 at 9:00 am ET, but regained some ground as the morning progressed. By late afternoon, the pair traded around 1.9436.The dollar slightly advanced against the yen Monday in New York. The buck saw a daily low of 117.11 around 2:30 am ET, and began to climb from there. The dollar gradually made way against the yen, slipping at some points, to reach a weekly high of 117.76 at 12:00 pm ET. The buck slipped slightly in the afternoon, and by 3:30 pm ET, traded at 117.49 against the yen.
